32 Bit Cafe Privacy Policy
Personal data we collect
We greatly respect the privacy of our users, and do not collect any data we are not consciously given.
- If you sign up and create an account with our SSO, we will record your email address. This is simply to allow you to log in, and to facilitate password resets.
- Optionally you may provide your name if you wish to display this to other users.
- Any email sent from / received by your 32bit.cafe account will be stored in plaintext on our server.
- Your list of contacts will be stored on our server, if you use our webmail.
We do not employ tracking technology of any kind, and your data will never be transferred to third parties without your consent.
How to control your personal data
Since we collect only the data that is strictly necessary to provide our services, it is quite straightforward to control your data.
- If you don't want emails stored on our server, delete them. This happens instantly and across all redundant copies (corollary: we cannot restore deleted emails).
- If you don't want your name stored on our server, change it in your my.32bit.cafe dashboard, Discourse profile, and email profile. Note that any previous names used to send emails will remain on those emails, so if you're paranoid, delete those.
- If you don't want us to store your external email address, unfortunately you will need to delete your account from the my.32bit.cafe dashboard as we need this for logins and password resets.
Cookies
Some of our services use cookies to persist your login state or to record theme preferences, but otherwise we do not employ cookies for tracking or analytics.
Collection of data from children
32 Bit Cafe is a community for adults only. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to create accounts with us (although they are more than welcome to browse our content since we are completely SFW), and therefore we do not collect any information from them.
